1001 Steps: Plot Point Ideas

Where the thread stands currently:

  • Kit is recovering from trauma experienced in fighting off the evil horde (tm) and is pending questioning at the Council
  • Andrealphus is in Blandine's Tower pending his own interrogation
  • Soldekai, Urfiel and angels of Brilliance and War (among others) are in The Marches, pressing the battle against the now decimated Aztecs onward
  • Madian has questioned Kit and is to submit his report to his superiors and from there to Dominic
  • Pharzuph has been enjoying the sanctuary of Notre Dame and is pending delivery to his next stage of redemption
  • Ramariel (aka Julian Kane) has entered Westminister Cathedral/Abbey seeking redemption
  • Samantha James is moving from off West End to West End legitimate theater, her life-long dreams answered. She has also become a very wealthy woman thanks to Julian Kane's generosity and with the sale of the Phantasmagoria in London

    Future / Possible Plot Points:

  • Beleth, enraged by the turn of events, is no doubt having to defend herself against the political smears of her rivals, as Andrealphus made his escape via the Marches
  • Andrealphus' secret hideaway in The Marches will be discovered and destroyed
  • Kit and Andre will have their day in court
  • Pharzuph will reveal that he has his heart, as well as Andre's and Ramariel's

Current Thoughts: (aka The Conspiracy Theory)

  • Serpentine! You Forgot To Serpentine!: Andrealphus was aided in his escape by a conspiracy involving demons of Theft, Lilim, Lust and Dark Humor. It will have involved the demon(s) in charge of "Pickpocketing" and/or "Sleight of Hand" to steal the hearts; a Daughter of Lilith either tricked into a gaes with Andrealphus or answering some long-standing gaes/boon in need of repayment...or perhaps out of her own wish to either be out of the auspices of Hell and independent or return to Heaven to help with the theft (seduction) or the hiding of such; and the Baron of Practical Jokes, a servitor of Dark Humor, who may have created replicas of the hearts that will have exploded with springy snakes like the old popcorn can jokes from the 50s or something. Think of it as the Ocean's Eleven angle.
  • The Truth Is Out There: Like Scully and Mulder, two demons investigating the case could stumble onto a global conspiracy touching every facet of Hell. Lucifer can be the hot Russian agent. Asmodeus will be the smoking dude.
  • You Can't Keep A Good Woman Down: Perhaps Lilith herself was involved in the shenanigans, with the ultimate goal of usurping Lucifer's power and leading the demons into a new, and more enlightened, Age. I'm not sure why she would, exactly, but maybe you all can think of something.

If we had more writers, I would choose the Scully and Mulder version, as that would lead to more interaction and development, potentially touching on a lot of different feature and "color" characters. Of the three, it's definitely my favorite, but it would be intensive and would require your participation!

Let me know what you think. Joi, you and "Avarice" may have more input here as you both know the systems well and would know other potential plot ideas or things to keep in mind.

    Fata

Fata. Fate. I have been refining (in my own mind) the notion of Fate, the theme of Fate, and how it applies to Venice. When I first conceived of Venice as a building project and story base, it really centered around magic. However, as stories began to take place in that environment, the true nature of Venice's story has become one of Fate. This was not done consciously; it just happens to be the very real-world theme of this city.

    The Wild Hunt

Taken from my previous post, here's the summary :

The Wild Hunt - a group of fierce fighting riders who are not aligned with any court or kingdom in the absence of a High King. Despite the long lack of such a king, they have maintained a strict discipline upon themselves.

I'll now flesh this out further, examining a little bit the 'historic' role of the Hunt as well as how I see this existing on the grid (and the characters most overtly affected by this).

    Fairy Kingdoms

So it occurs to me, now we've got this site and all (thanks, Cris!) - this might be a good time to add to the topography and hence political landscape of the fey sections of the Marches. Before doing so, I've taken a little time and made a few notes on the ones who've been mentioned as existing in the past. This should not be regarded as a comprehensive list, though. (NB : these are unplayed entities, unbuilt areas.)

So feel free to comment on anything I've collected here, discuss, etc. I will put up a post on one or two bits with more information separately.
